With support from the Dixon Water Foundation, Mimms Unit served as an outdoor classroom for K-8 students at Marfa International School.
From 2013 until the school’s closure in 2016, MIS students in the “Living Classroom” field program learned about sustainable land management, water quality, soil health, desert plants and animals, and other topics through hands-on activities at the ranch.
