Trans-Pecos Wildlife Conference

August 4, 2026 by Dixon Water Foundation

Wednesday, 08/05/2026 – Friday, 08/07/2026

The Borderlands Research Institute, Texas Wildlife Association, and Texas Parks and Wildlife welcome you to the biannual Trans Pecos Wildlife Conference. Join fellow landowners, industry experts, and like-minded conservationists as we navigate topics such as emerging issues in the Trans-Pecos, big game and non-game research and management, applied management, and land stewardship.

The event will kick off Wednesday evening with the Texas Big Game Awards Banquet, open to all conference attendees and held at the Museum of the Big Bend. Thursday morning we will convene at the Espino Center on the Sul Ross campus for a series of educational sessions led by numerous industry professionals. The day wraps up with a dinner and social. Friday morning will be field-based, with field trip options that include a comparative necropsy and tour of local hydraulic structures such as media lunas at the Dixon Water Foundation’s Mimms Unit.
